Practical No-Nonsense Distribution and Supply Chain Operations Transformation

Let me guess…it’s 3am?

And I’ll bet this isn’t the first time that your fight or flight instinct has taken you hostage in the middle of the night. Right now you can’t decide if it’s fight or run, but if it’s run, you know it won’t be the cool slow motion Baywatch kind, it’ll be the undignified arm flailing kind, where you trip over the cat on the way out.

So what is it? You're warehouse operations are losing time or money and everyone’s pointing fingers at someone else? You’ve just spent an excessive amount of cash on a shiny new Supply Chain system that nobody is using because “it’s not intuitive”?

Everyone's busy doing ‘the right thing’. You've thrown everything at it but nothing's actually getting any better?

Yeah, I’d be awake at 3am too.

Laptop keyboard with a smartphone placed on it, displaying a message that says 'Hello', connected to a charging cable. The surface beneath is a wooden desk.

Or maybe you need a little more information about the random stranger you found on the internet at 3am? Ok that’s fair…

A group of people sitting around a conference table with laptops, drinks, and papers, in a room with a large wall-mounted screen displaying a performance with legs playing a keyboard. The room has windows and modern decor.

How I work?

……give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day, teach him how to fish and he'll eat forever....

Scope

Some engagements are short and focused. You may simply need someone to come in, make sense of what is going on, tell you the truth about where things are stuck, and leave you with a practical plan your team can use.

If required I can then continue my work into delivery. That is where I get hands on, helping leaders make decisions, supporting teams through the detail, creating the tools, forums and feedback loops needed to keep things moving.

The shape of the work depends on the problem, the urgency and what your team needs from me. Sometimes the value is clarity. Sometimes it is momentum or clearing up a previously immovable problem. The aim is always the same: make the situation visible, make the next steps practical, and give the business the tools it needs to move forward with confidence.

Diagnostic

My first mission will be to get a clear picture from you and your leadership team of where your business is now and your vision for the future. Working with your senior team to clarify the ambition, agree priorities, expose trade-offs, and make sure the people leading the business are genuinely pointing in the same direction.

Concurrently I will be getting inside your business, speaking with key stakeholders, informal influencers and the people who know where the bodies are buried. I will map processes and ownership to develop a clear picture of what is going on and how we can approach delivering the required solutions.

This diagnostic takes anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks depending on the complexity of the project. Once complete I produce a report and a presentation with a frank assessment of the situation, and a practical action plan.

Delivery

Every business has its own reality and my job is to read an organisation as a whole, surface what is genuinely holding progress back, and help teams to create structures and processes that give them the tools they need to create their own solutions.

Together the teams will build an honest shared narrative by articulating their key business challenges and decision making gaps. That might involve running practical workshops, simulations and value prioritisation sessions, all of which establish ownership, follow-through, business-wide accountability and most importantly RAPID VISUAL PROGRESS for leadership that builds confidence in the new business approach.

Along side this I'll create a set of project plans to ensure work stays on target and on budget. I will also create a support system around the work. This could include process maps, simple roadmaps and working principles, plus visual tools forums, websites, knowledge hubs, training environments, playbooks, guides, launch materials and campaign assets.
